Dear Students,
I’m Fabiano Mayrink Isenhour, a passionate professor and plant biologist at Valencia College. My journey started in Brazil, where my love for nature blossomed, and now I’m thrilled to share that passion with you.At Valencia College, I teach courses I love: Botany, Plant Physiology, Ethnobotany, and Biology II. I’ve also taught Plant Pathology and Intro to Biological Sciences. If you’re curious to learn more about plants and my work, feel free to follow me on Instagram @biologyofplants
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Education focusing on Biological Sciences and a master’s degree in Plant Biology with a specialization in Plant Physiology. Since 2018, I’ve been proud to be an associate professor at Valencia College’s West Campus. Currently, I’m pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Administration at the University of Florida.
Biological Sciences, especially plant science, are fascinating and essential fields. Plants are fundamental to life on Earth, providing oxygen, food, medicine, and more. If you’re intrigued by biology and the amazing world of plants, consider exploring a Plant Sciences pathway. It’s a fantastic way to deepen your understanding and contribute to our knowledge of nature.
For those in Central Florida, Valencia College offers excellent degree pathways, including:
1. Plant Science and Agricultural Technology
2. Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences
3. Biology, including biomedical sciences.
Suppose you aim to transfer to a university after earning your associate degree. In that case, Valencia’s Associate in Arts with a Biology Degree Pathway can prepare you for fields like conservation biology, agronomy, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and more at UCF or UF.
I also encourage you to apply for Undergraduate Research at Valencia College. Engaging in research can greatly enrich your educational experience. More details can be found here.
I hope you find a special connection with the biological world during your studies. Let’s embark on this exciting educational journey together!
Warmly,
Professor Fabiano.
